Question:

Italian Kitchen?

Hey, I‘m moving out into my own apartment pretty soon, and I really want an Italian-themed kitchen. I want it to have an authentic feeling (ie. no little figures of Italian chefs everywhere lol). What are some things I can get for my kitchen that would give it that Italy feeling?

Answer:

Don't forget the following: Pasta Machine (Hand cranked manual one) Machinetta Octagonal Espresso maker. The Aluminum one that goes on the stove with water on the bottom and finely ground coffee loveliness in the upside-down Strainer Wooden chopping block Big Pasta cooker pot A Collander with star shaped hole patterns (Scaulda pasta) A bottle of Vermouth Olive Oils, many of 'em But that's only if you actually want to cook Italian. if it's for aesthetic purposes only, I can't help ya
Paint it stone tan with some light swipe textures here and there. Have a black wire stand stained glass top dining table, and black wire framed chairs with basket weaved cloth tan seating. Have a seating area with a chair by the window with a small stained glass patterned area rug and a light for reading.a morning coffee/newspaper spot, or the place you rest and watch the small tv on the bar while cooking.
Real Italian Kitchens are simple, rustic, have the copper pots and pans hanging from the cieling, vases with lavender on the table, earthy colors, think brick, burnt orange, yellow on the walls, posters usually in Italian or French, Table cloths that are linnen and embroidered, (Sur La Table) has great ones as do kitchen stores. Knives are stored in a block, portugese designs on the dishes, cups, saucers, soup tureens.
