Question:

Ithe iron ore thinks of the blast furnace as uneeded torture. the tempered sword knows better. Quote help?

I am trying to find the properly worded quote. If anyone could help me with the proper quote and author credit I would greatly appreciate it. I read it in one of my books and now I can‘t find the book.

Answer:

Thoughts for Every-day Living: From the Spoken and Written Words - Page 20 by Maltbie Davenport Babcock - 1902 - 192 pages Iron ore may think itself senselessly tortured in the furnace, but when the watch-spring looks back, it knows better. This is it.
ok so it's like the ore just thinks that the fire is a pain in the butt and nothing good will come out of it. but the sword used to be just the iron ore. but it went thru the fire and is now a sword-useful. kinda like how a teenager thinks he knows everything, but when the person becomes an adult, they realize that the 'fire' is good for them.
