Does anyone know or have a good key lime pie recipe?
Mojito recipe serve in Parfait Glass 3 fresh mint sprigs 2 tsp sugar 3 tbsp fresh lime juice 1 1/2 oz light rum club soda In a tall thin glass, crush part of the mint with a fork to coat the inside. Add the sugar and lime juice and stir thoroughly. Top with ice. Add rum and mix. Top off with *chilled* club soda (or seltzer). Add a lime slice and the remaining mint, and serve.
Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 10 minutes Ingredients: 4 mint leaves 1 lime (for juicing) 1 teaspoon powdered sugar 2 ounces white rum 2 ounces club soda 1 sprig of mint (for garnishing) crushed ice Preparation: 1. Put the mint leaves into a Collins glass and squeeze the lime juice over them. 2. Add the powdered sugar and then muddle the mint, lime juice and sugar together. Add crushed ice. 3. Stir in the rum and top off with the club soda. 4. Garnish with a mint sprig. Servings: Makes one drink.
Use 2 oz. of mint syrup and 1 oz. of the lime juice. Add 2 to 3 oz. of rum (based on how strong you want the drink to be) and ice. Shake, then fill to the top of the glass with club soda. By the way, you should be mixing this in a pint glass (16 oz.) or something close to it. You wouldn't want to mix this in a huge plastic cup or a small juice glass. If it tastes too sweet, keep adding club soda until you get the desired flavor and use 1.5 oz. of mint syrup on the next one. Like someone already mentioned, it won't taste the same, but it shouldn't be too far off either.
I can't tell you what to do, but I can definitely tell you what not to do as I have tried unsuccessfully to make mojitos on several occasions. First, do not substitute lime juice for limes, it just tastes nasty and you'll never get the ratio right. Second, use real mint leaves. I didn't have any and I tried to use my mint julep syrup...not a great idea. I don't know if that helped you, but at least you can learn from my mistakes instead of making them yourself!
