This morning while I was getting ready for work my 6 month old kitten Apollo was sitting in the bathroom sink. I look down and he is peeing in my sink. My 9 month old kitten Cupid was also in the bathroom too. This is the first time I have caught him going pee outside the litter box. I think that he did this to get attention from me because I pay a little more attention to Cupid. Could Apollo be spraying instead of peeing since he is not neutered just yet? SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE. SMART A** ANSWERS WILL BE REPORTED!!!
I had a cat that did this. I just tried to keep the litter box as clean as possible. You could try getting another litter box, one for each cat, or even putting them in different places.
LOL! My bestfriend's kitty does the same thing. Make sure that the litter box is clean and has fresh litter. Some kitties don't like going where other cats have gone. Its a territory thing. P.S. I think the name Cupid is adorable!
Cats can be really finiky about were they like to go... Have you switched litter brands lately? I have heard of a cat that would either go in one brand of litter, or her owner's shoe. Or maybe you aren't cleaning the litter out enough, I know another cat that would only go in fresh litter, he wouldn't go in the litter if there was so much as one poo in it, he would go on the comforter, (they got him a littermaid). Both of those examples are extremes but cats do have preferences, if you change litter brands do so gradualy and make sure that the box is cleaned frequently (especially with two cats in the house)
My cats used to go in the tub. The vet said that the tub/sink is familiar to them because it's like their box, but without litter. So your little guy is going where he thinks he COULD go, but not where he SHOULD go. If you can, wipe up the pee with a Kleenex or paper towel, put it in his litter box (just on top of the litter), show it to him- trying to let him smell it, and help him "scratch" to cover up the kleenex/pee. He's just an adverturous pee-er. You just have to show him where he MUST go.
clean the sink with bleach or pinesol do discourage it from doing it again and make sure the litterbox is clean. my cat did the same thing only it wasn't just pee.
