You can’t expect a general answer like that. Because battery time depends on your CPU : how fast it runs, what type, what kind of power saving features it supports etc. GPU : Whether you have an integrated or dedicated graphics card Monitor type Size : LCD or LED and what size Average Monitor brightness Hard Disk speed : 5400 RPM or 7200RPM Wireless devices : whether you have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth ON or OFF What type of applications you run : Whether processor is under load or not Power profile : Whether you are running in power saving mode or not. Depending on the above the time can vary a lot ! One more thing, you can only compare the mAh rating when the voltage is same. For actual power you need to compare the v * Ah Whr (Watt Hour). I have a 11.1v 4800mAh ~ 54Whr battery . It will last around 3 hrs 15mins in Vista under power saver profile, when doing normal work. Specs : T7250, 8400M GS, 120GB 5200RPM, 13.3 LCD display at medium brightness, Wi-fi + BT ON.
