Question:

light travels at a speed of about 187000 miles per second.sound travels at a speed of about 1087 feet per sec.?

how many times faster does light travel than light

Answer:

convert one of the set of units to the other, and then divide...cmon man, this is basic math..this isn't even physics..
To be REALLY picky, I would point out to the asker that light travels at the listed speed IN A VACUUM. Sound doesn't travel in a vacuum, so the base calculated ratios shown so far don't exist in any 'apples to apples' medium. The speed of light in air is slightly slower, although not by much.
Light doesn't travel faster than light. That aside: 187000 mi/sec * 5280 ft/mi = Xxxx ft/sec Xxxx/1087 = ?? You do the math.
