Answer:

Even a mediocre local company will give you better customer service than adt/brinks. Go Local.
The above are all good suggestions. The only thing I can think of to add is to make absolutely sure the pipe is not only dry when you start, but that there is no chance of water leaking to the solder location while you're doing the repair. If it leaks a smidge, there's a chance that it's cooling a small section that may prevent the melted solder from getting all the way around.
Do not use any wax with it - or oil. Get a rubberized paint, ones used for clothing. As any form of oil or wax will deteriorate the surface in time. First wipe the surface with Power Assisted Steering Fluid (PASF) (yes this is oil, but it's safe). Make sure that the cloth you are using doesn't get too drenched! After 10-15 minutes, you'll notice that the surface of the mask is sticky - this is because the rubber absorbed the PASF. and that PASF is also volatile against rubber ^.^ In this stage - the surface will stick to any liquid-like fluids or paint. Then start painting it with whatever color you like! :D Already done this with my PMG - I personally suggest that you paint it black on the half side O.O lol It will look scary! and awesome I hope this helps! :)
