Question:

Lightning Rods.????

If lightning rods are to conduct the charge of electricity to the ground to prevent damage to say a barn. Then would the animals around the barn be in danger of conducting the electricity into there bodies from the ground?I know if animals are standing under a tree and lightning hits the tree, lightning can and will kill them.

Answer:

move your bed to the other side of the room so that you aren't sleeping on the same wall as she is. then start using a little discipline and get up when your alarm rings the first time. or you could set your phone alarm but leave the phone in the kitchen. use the regular ring like you would if someone were calling. people are totally conditioned to wake up to their phone ringing so you're not going to sleep through that. geez, it's a good thing you're not getting laid, she'd really be complaining.
Yeah dude, there's no reason to just let your alarm continuously go off for 20 minutes, or at all. How can you even stand that? As soon as my alarm goes off, I'm like ****!! And I immediately shut it off and get out of bed. You could try finding a more quiet alarm that would still wake you up? Some alarm clocks are way more obnoxious sounding than they need to be.
A buzzing vibrating alarm clock going off early next door is hell on earth to live next door to. I should know, we've suffered this from our next door meighbour for a long time. I tried speaking to her a lot of times. She is deaf but in denial and was very rude and completely unreasonable. Now its started again 3 nights in a row including Saturday and Sunday mornings. She doesnt even get up and go out so it shpuldnt even be on. If you do this please stop.it's deeply inconsiderate and it drives people crazy. Through sleep deprivation as much as general annoyance. It's hard to think straight and be patient and reasonable when you are shattered and angry about this problem.
The maximum force with which the car can push against the road is limited by the friction coefficient of the tire multiplied by the normal force. This applies both during acceleration and braking. The stopping distance remains same with the same tire and road conditions, when the wheels are locked and skidding, regardless of the weight, number of wheels or vehicle load. Maximum braking force occurs when the wheels are braked just before the locking point or point of impending skid. Jones and Childers report coefficients of friction of about 0.7 for dry roads and 0.4 for wet roads. For a good driver, you need to use both engine braking action as well as foot brakes to stop a vehicle traveling at speeds above 60 kmph. At first the driver shifts from drive or overdrive to third or second gear so that the engine braking brings the speed down and this can be helped with the foot brakes by gradually increasing pressure. The reason for applying engine braking and foot braking is to prevent what is known as Brake Fade: Since brake lining material is a poor conductor of heat, most of the heat goes into the brake drum or disc during braking. Under severe use, brake drums may reach 590 K temperatures. The coefficient of friction between the drum and lining is much lower at these high temperatures so that additional pedal pressure is required. After a number of severe stops or after holding the brakes on a long down hill grade, a point is eventually reached when the coefficient of friction drops so low that little braking effect is available. This condition is called brake fade. The vehicle will fail to slow down even when brakes are applied at this point.
SometimesWhen I was in college and had roommates, I would use my phone and put my alarm on just vibrate and put it in my pillow so that it would wake me without disturbing anyone elsebut I think I slept through it like 3 times and ended up late to class, so it's not the BEST solution (especially considering that phone vibrations are very weakwhich is why getting the clock would probably be better since it would probably have a stronger vibration to shake you awake). You can also try to sleep early so that you can teach your body to wake up before the alarm clock. If all else fails, find a way to just negotiate with that neighbor. Perhaps you can do them favors every now and again in exchange for the noise that your alarm makes? Vacuum their place once a week? Wash their car? I don't know. Sometimes you just have to bargain in order to get them to stop complaining. I highly doubt that your landlord can kick you out for an alarm clock, though. That is just unreasonable to the max. Edit: I think people are misinterpreting the question and thinking that the asker is purposely leaving the alarm clock for 20 minutes. I think what he is saying is that he slept through it and didn't realize that it was going off until 20 minutes later..as in he literally did not wake up to hear it until that moment. Things like that happens when you are tired, it's very easy to sleep through even the loudest alarm clock. Obviously the asker wouldn't have to ask this question in the first place if his only problem was to get up and turn it off as soon as it went off! Some of you people are idiots for giving me thumbs down and insulting this asker! Think people and READ the question.
