Question:

Lime juice ate through marble coating?

I was baking and the lime juice ate through the coating or sealer or w/e it's called and now my mom is about to bite my head off. She's telling me to go to home depot or lowes but I don't know which product is the best. Has anyone had any experience with recoating your marble tiles?

Answer:

the limestone caverns of new york, michigan, missouri, germany, england, etc. plug in lime quarries or lime quarry sites.
Lime , as lime CaO or Ca(OH)2 is not found naturally. However its primary mineral CaCO3 is found in abundance literally all over the world Lime is produced by the thermal decomposition of the CaCO3 CaCO3 → heat → CaO + CO2 CaO is called quick lime It reacts violently with water producing a lot of heat to produce the hydrated: Ca(OH)2 which is called slaked lime. If slaked lime is left for some time exposed to the atmosphere, it absorbs CO2 to revert to CaCO3. This is the reason why lime , quick lime or slaked lime , is not found to occur in nature
In the grocery section of most supermarkets :)
