how many cushions do you have to work with??
Put two high-backed chairs a few feet from the sofa and then put a sheet over the the top. You can use the cushions from the sofa in the open areas to make doors/gates where the sheet opens up. Bonus: If you take a broom and tuck it in between the couch cushions, you can tie the sheet to it and make a pirate ship. It's easy to make pirate hats out of newspaper. That way you can escape when someone invades your fort.
