Question:

Lucas upper cylinder treatment fuel additive?

So i just bought it and it says for diesal or gasoline engines. But when i look online it says diesal vehicles and off road gasoline vehicles. For marine equiptment as well. Would i be ok putting it in my gas f150?

Answer:

I agree. Probably better off filling your tank with Chevron 91 octane, once and awhile. Most additives are expensive and do very little.
It would probably be fine but it's a waste of money. Most of the additives you see in stores are nothing more than a high octane gasoline product the may or may not clean anything.
It would be a waste of money. Fuel additives do not help engines very much. They are primarily for octane boosting, although the Lucas does add a bit of oil to help lube the combustion chamber of the engine. (The valves, top of piston and top of rings.) Unless you are having trouble with dirty injectors/carb jets, I wouldn't bother with fuel additives. You'd be better off buying the Lucas product that mixes with the engine oil. Does increase the lubrication of moving parts significantly.?I add some every 3rd oil change in place of a quart (or gallon in my 18 wheeler diesel) of oil.
