Question:

lye from washing soda and lime?

Will this work?Ca(OH)2 + Na2CO3 → CaCO3 + 2 NaOH 74g (1mol) lime is added to 105g (1mol) washing soda in 1L water (how long will this reaction take?). CaCO3 will precipitate out (it's practically insoluble compared to NaOH). The CaCO3 can be filtered off and the filtrate evaporated to yield lye crystals.

Answer:

I found lime green last year just by googling 'lime green horse tack'. You can get it by mail order. Probably hot pink as well.

This Site Might Help You. RE: Where to find LIME GREEN and HOT PINK tack? also red white and blue tack.? Im looking to buy: lime green tack set (saddle aswell) 16quot; seat. cheaper the better Hot pink tack set (saddle as well) 14-15quot; seat Patriotic or red white blue tack set (with or without saddle) 14quot;-15quot; AND 16quot; seat also anything to decorate with for memorial...
It sounds like you'll be using it as parade tack? Get colorful vet wrap and wrap your current tack with it, it will cost you a heck of a lot less money than buying all new tack, and it will work just as well. It also solves the cleaning problem someone earlier mentioned.
Although I don't know of anything specifically, I would recommend Jackson's Western Store in Wayland. Another good one is Millbrook Tack and Trailer. Both would be able to help you with your tack needs. Which parades are you going to be in? I live in Michigan, and there's a chance I might see you! **EDIT: Nope, I am actually just west of Grand Rapids. Anyway, both of those shops are a bit south of Grand Rapids. They probably aren't more than 1 1/2 hours away from Springport.
