Question:

Macbook white vs. new Macbook aluminium?

ok i had a two months old macbook, the white one with 1GB RAM (upgraded to 2GB) but it died last week cause of damage due to damp now i need to buy a new one and i dont kow if i should go for the new aluminium case one? the white one would be like 500 swiss francs cheaper but i think i'll need to upgrade to 2GB RAM again...so, any thoughts which one i should get? i study graphic design and work therefore a lot with adobe illustrator/indesign/photoshopt etc i also do photography which i edit on my laptop and i use it also for listening to music/internet/chatting/watching tv/movies so, what do you think?

Answer:

Whichever colour you go for you are quite right about 2 gb of RAM especially with Adobe programmes. I have just upgraded to 2 gb on my IMAC and I use Adobe Photoshop a lot and it's made a big difference.
If you are worried about the price, then buy the white MacBook. If you would like a more damage-proof, stylish laptop, buy the aluminium. Personally, I prefer the aluminium as it has a better structure, better look, and the new multi-touch trackpad.
I think the aluminum Macbook is the way to go... I used both in the Apple Store, and it felt sturdier and much better built... the white Macbook has a slightly faster processor (2.1Ghz vs. 2.0Ghz) but the difference shouldn't be noticeable, because the chipset in the aluminum one is faster. You can't go wrong either way, i think.
