What do you guys thinkwent to a hardware shop andthey had 19mm diametre rail the only size that would fit my throttle setup on my DR-Z70 Suzuki(small dirtbiek thing)I bought some standard handle bars but its 21mm thick i would have to find another throttle kit etc and whole lot of trouble and a lot or moneySo i found this tubing at the hardware shop which is actually for towels but still its the only pipe that will fit!!!! what are your thoughts? and any tips on bending it with limited tools and money????
Do I follow your description? You have built a form of woodYou will cover this form with cement (the stuff mixed with gravel to make concrete) You wish to lay up fiberglass fabric and resin on the cement and when you are done lift the rigid form off the cementI think you should ask people who work intensely with concrete and cement and formsI think you should use something heavier than floor wax - perhaps the waxes used on concrete formsI think you will have to be very careful of the smoothness and shape of the cement to keep the fiberglass from locking to it just from texture and shape no matter how much wax you put on.
This Site Might Help YouRE: What is the best release agent for applying fiberglass resin? I have a 7 foot diameter form, of conical shape, made of wood and will eventually top with cementThis will be the mold for which I will apply fiberglass meshing and resinI will need to remove the dried fiberglass layer without it breaking/tearing from the mold beneath itI am thinking of using.
Towel rails will be too small a gauge, once fatigued by bending they will fracture leaving a jagged end which you will catch with your groin on your way over the headstockPersonally I would look at bicycle handlebars for a cheap option – mountain bike bars are built to take punishment and come in 19mm diameter, bending them is not easy without the proper equipment (and almost impossible to do symmetrically), if you must try, fill them with wet sand (really stuffed in) then use heat on the section you want to bend, use a vice and a length of tube that fits over the bars – I do not recommend this though – they will fatigue as well.
