My bedroom is in the garage and the summer heat is becoming unbearable. It's an older built garage, so an AC is not an option and also not energy efficient. I'm on a budget, so I'm asking for your wise advice. I was thinking of maybe placing white tarp across the roof to reflect the heat, but not sure how effective that will be. Thanks in advance :)
Are you using the alarm to trigger a central alarm system or as a stand alone? The orange wire is likely the trigger and the black and white are line voltage. For stand alone, you dont need the orange wire connected. If you have a volt meter, check for line voltage in the house wires. This will help you determine which wire is which.
Talk to your town planning commission or town council or both. Someone in either or both groups should be able to make it happen or advise you who to talk to to get it to happen. You may need a petition of your neighbors so be prepared for that too.
