Question:

making the things in a leopard gecko cage?

i want to do something with leaves so like i have a moist hide and he doesn't like his moist hide because it is not dark enough so i was think that i could get some fake leaves and hot glue them onto the hidewould i be able to do that or would he try to eat the glue? even if i cover the glue with the leaves so he see any glue coming outjust an idea to make it darker! if you have any ideas on how to make the moist hide darker that would be great!Cat!

Answer:

I assume the humid hide you have is some kind of clear plastic container? A simple (but slightly ugly) solution would be to cover it with aluminum foil or the like (make sure to avoid any sharp edges)You could also paint it, though leave it out of the cage at least 24 hours, or at least 6 hours after you last smell anything from it (whichever is greater) to make sure it's completely dry, and not giving off fumesOr, you could make a new hide, out of something opaque, like a plastic or clay flower pot.
Wellunfortunately I used to work in the business as a decorator and what I know is with the builders I work with, the carpet they choose as the standard was a staple fiber carpetIn a low grade of carpet this is badIn a high grade carpet it's purpose is to make the carpet look fullerBut in either case what happens is the carpet will shedAll carpet sheds for the first 6 months, but with those staple fibers they will continue sheddingI used to warn my customers about thisI would wait 6 months to see if the shedding slows downBut where I worked, it was not considered a manufacture defect, it was just the productIf you are so dissatisfied with it, you may just have to replace it.
Hmmm it really depends on what you're meaning- Did he smoke in the house a lot for many years? Cigarette smoke can stick around for quite some whileEven after opening all the windows and airing the house out, spraying airfreshners ectYou could try bleaching the walls and ceilings (a bucket of water with a bit of bleach diluted into it) just scrub the walls and ceilings down (you'll probably notice a lot of yellow stains coming off) -if indeed he was a heavy smoker.Hiring a carpet cleaner (or renting one) will do wonders.Air the house out as often as possible. And buy some airfreshners, candlesectBefore buying those though, I would go for the DEEP cleaning- Wash all sheets, blankets, rugs, too! And if all else fails- You can always paint!- That is a sure way to get rid of the smell:) Good luck!
Have you tried using a shop Vacuum They will hold more and not clog so easily.
