It is one of those words that authors make up, I suspect. Did you read it? If so, I imagine it means that something was 'put in the silo' or stored in a silo. A silo is a tall, 20 ft. or more, vertical structure, round in shape (hollow inside) that is used to store grain, like corn or soybeans. You see them near a farm house or barn out in the country, particularly in midwest farming communities.
