Describe the smelting of iron ore

Answer:

The ore concentrate is heated, usually in a blast furnace, in the presence of a reductant (say, carbon coke) and some sort of flux to facilitate the melting process, and the melted iron is collected and cooled into bars or ingots or other similar shape. That is the fundamentals of the process, but if you want more details you need to do a search or go to the library.
