Question:

multiplying out the brackets ?

doing some revision and came across a question i have forgotten how to do.5x(3x+2) (2x-7)

Answer:

Just multiply everything in the brackets by what's outside the brackets. 5x(3x+2) (2x-7) (15x^2 + 10x)(2x-7) {basically I just multipled the 5x by the (3x+2) } now do the same again. 30x^3 - 105x^2 +20x^2 - 70x 30x^3 - 85x^2 - 70x
First Deal with the bracket multiplied by the bracked. Expand by multiplying every term together 5x(6x^2+4x-21x-14) Simplify: 5x(6x^2-17x-14) Now Multiply The Term outside the bracket by every term in the bracket 30x^3-85x^2-170x
distribute 5x through the first pair of parenthesis, the use FOIL First Outside Inside Last
