Question:

My 99 Grand Am gt blew a head gasket. With it being an aluminum engine is there a chance the head is bad now?

it is the 3.4 v6Mechanic friends wont look at it but are guessing that because the head gasket blew it couldve warped the heads.needing to know if just replacing the head gasket would work or what.

Answer:

Well I think pots and pans, measuring cups, cookie sheets, silicone scrappers, mixing spoons and mixing bowls are all needed in the kitchen and those are just a few that I can think of.
knives potato masher cooking spoons (slotted and solid) colander strainer (a bit finer than colander) garlic press citrus juicer/reamer whisk silicone spatulas flat spatulas for flipping things tongs can opener measuring cups/spoons pot holders/hot pads cookie sheets jellyroll pans cake pans pie plates loaf pans muffin pans electric mixer food processor blender
the reason they did not look at it, is there is nothing that can tell theml We have no clue to the events that l ed to the head gasket blowing, normally head gaskets do not spontaneously decide to blow up for no reasonThe more information you give us, the better we can probably help answer your questionsnowadays a lot of heads are aluminum, it sounds like your car engine block and heads are aluminumThis is done for high performance carsbecause the entire engine is much lighter you can get amazing power out of it as wellThe problem with aluminum, is you can not overheat itnot even onceIf it blows a radiator hose, or something else happens, you must turn it off immidiatly, and call a tow truck and tow it to a mechanic and fix itIf an aluminum engin is driven so hard, it blows a head gasket, there is a good chance the entire engine has been damagedAluminum vaporizes with heat, and if there is no water to cool the engine, it will overheat badly and go up in big clouds of very stinky smoke(which is alsos an explosive vapor( years ago, a company made aluminum armor for military vehicles, it was durable, light weight and strong, but they found out by accident that if you put a high explosive heat seeking round through aluminum armor, it bored a hole and the vaporized aluminum exploded with the round, making the explosion bigger) I hope your block is ok, but you will not know about the head, until it is removed, and the mechanic can inspect if for cracks He can also tell if the block has been damaged too, aluminum engines are expensive I suggest you be sitting down when the mechanic calls with the bill
There are a lot of things: - whisk (sometimes may be substituded with a bunch of chopsticks - mixer - knives, sometimes a lot of different knives - chopping boards: plastic and wood - sieve But in my kitchen there are a lot of extra stuff just to make cooking easier.
If you're looking for only the essentials then you need: a stove/oven, cutting board, good knives, measuring cup, measuring spoon, rubber spatula, large spoon, stainless steel spatula, a large skillet (can be used for frying, soup, boiling, etc) w/ lid, a cookie sheet with sides on it, a large glass mixing bowl, regular household silverware (forks are cheaper than whisks because they are used for multiple purposes, butter knives can be great spreading spatulas, and tablespoons can be used for stirring and skimming), a small saucepan w/ lid, dinner plates (multiple uses also, serving platter, lid, and just a plate-lol)If you have lots of money to spend there are a million essentials that every chef believes to be a necessity, but you can actually make do with the things I listedI may have forgotten something but if you are creative, you can make basic things work for more than what they were manufactured forIf you can afford it, a good mixer is a mainstay in most kitchens as well- you can pay $20- over $200 for one.
