Question:

My boiler pilot will not say on.?

I am having a problem with the pilot staying on in my boiler. I press the reset button and it will eventually come on. but after about 45 seconds it shuts back off. can someone shed some light on the problem. i dont feel like paying some one to fix this. there has to be something that I am overlooking.

Answer:

USA And the answer is - thermo couple!
Thermal couple.
Replace the thermocouple.
theres a thing in your boiler that checks that that the temperature of the pilot light is correct if that thing and i cant remember what its called is not working then it will automtically turn off the pilot light. becuase it cannot be sure that the pilot light is on. and so it switches off the gas for safety. its cheapish and easy to replace
