Answer:

I don't know where the sentence comes from but it appears to have a literary associationIf gaberdine is a tough material a bit like canvas then it is possible that a 'threadbare coat' is the reference to the wearer you might expandThreadbare being overworn, shabby but still a necessity the coat is worn because it is needed against the cold?
Threadbare means worn, the fabric is thinLike gaberdine means that the fabric was worn and thin like gaberdine.
The statement is contradictoryGabardine can never be called flimsy or thread bareGabardine, according to Wikipedia, is a tough, tightly woven fabric used to make suits, overcoats, trousers and other garmentsSo Gabardine cannot be used here.
Gabardine, spelled with an a, is the fabricA gaberdine, spelled with an e, is a coat, and it is a long loose overgarment, commonly tied at the waist, worn by pilgrims, beggars and almsmen So, the threadbare garment your quote refers to would be like that, whatever material it was made of, and a gaberdine was apparently the sort of thing worn by poorer people.
There is probably an emergency clinic close to youFind out the number and call there to give them the details Yes, although a low dosage of chocolate may not kill your dog, you love your dogs and want to be positive they are alrightIf you have a small dog you would give them a capful (about one tablespoon) of hydrogen peroxide, if you have a large dog give about two tablespoons or hydrogen peroxideThis will make them vomitIt should occur in atleast five minutesYou may have to get someone to help you to force feed the hydrogen peroxideAnd no this isn't unhealthy nor will it poison your dogs if you do not overdose themI am a veterinarian assistant and we have done this to make a dog throw up a lot of bubble gum and aluminum foil.
