Question:

My dog ate chocolate, what do I do? Will he be okay?

I have a Yorkshire Terrier, he is healthy and full-sized for his breed, not a teacupHe's probably about 10 poundsI allowed him into my bedroom to playI turned my back for a minute to find that he got into some old Valentine's Day chocolates I had lying aroundI can't tell if he actually ate and swallowed any, but his mouth smelled very caramel-chocolatyIf he did in fact swallow any, what are the chances something will happen to him? Should I worry? Is there anything I can do? Will he die?

Answer:

A little bit and he should be okMy mom's border collie cross ate a small bag of hershey's kisses onceIncluding the foilShe was really old and already medically fragile, but the only side effect was the aluminum foil made her poo kinda sparkle Occasionally our rottie and our border collie will get into a little it of chocolate, although we do our best to keep it up and out of the wayWe just watch them for any strange behavior, excesive drowsiness, vomiting, diarrhea, but otherwise they're ok:) Good luck!!
