My friend owned the hamster for a year and it was very tame and when it bit, it never hurt. However, she had to move. So she gave me her hamster and all of its cages/play pens and toys. But now, she keeps jumping to attack me when I stick my hand in to pet her and take her out to play. I stuck in a toilet paper roll and she viciously attacked it and I feel like she's going to attack my hand the same way. How do I get her to trust me and stop pouncing on my hand?

They make a plastic Ice breaker that you can glue to the rubber roof. As the ice melts and slides it pushes it up thus making it into smaller harmless pc.s thus no more large sheets of ice falling off. Ask a roofing supplier to order you some along with the adhesive.
