My Ford Taurus will shift smoother when I add a additive, only for a few days. What can I use to make it shift
your tranny might be shot and in need of a rebuild. or the wrong tranny fluid was used. need to check if its the fluid ford reccommends for that tranny. I would get it flushed but at a ford dealership. I am not a fan of dealerships. but with tranny and engine flushes. I have heard to many horror stories of places using the wrong tranny fluid. my dodge dakota gets its tranny flushed at a dodge dealership. atleast I know they will put the right fluid back in. if the flush dont help it. then you need to get your tranny rebuilt or replaced.
Lucas Oil makes a very super product that should help. it quite is noted as transmission fix. It lubricates greater suitable than the traditional transmission fluid through fact it quite is made to lubricate, unlike your established transmission fluid it relatively is synthetic basically as a hydraulic fluid to rigidity the fins and different functioning area of your computerized transmission.
Taurus up until 99, had all types of tranny problems and they can go with little warning. You didn't say the year. Ford used some softer aluminum valves in it to save weight I assume and these especially in 2nd gear go out around 100k. It's hard to drop the tranny in them, limited space. Additives can actually make them slip more, get it checked soon.
