The water pump was just put on by the previous owner! It was in water! So what could cause this to happen? Is it bad? Should I wait for water to pump up to it? Or should I just put a new one on?

this is what, five, six questions all about the same topic? I'm so confused. what does this mean, Should I wait for water to pump up to it? pump up to what? Could be a blockage in the telltale hose or nipple. Could be a blockage in the water jacket. Could be overheating for some other reason, (lean burning due to clogged carbs, inadequate oiling cause somebody forgot the oil, bad timing, etc.) and steam in the system is blocking the telltale. Forgot the water tube guide grommet and the water tube slipped off.
