Question:

on a 2004 dodge 2500 ram are the automatic door locks inter connected with the pdc, pcm, or data link?

I had the truck towed into the dealer for electrical problems , when the truck got there the power door locks worked , after the dealer work on it , they called me and said it was done and that I could pick it up,the first thing I noticed the power locks didnt work anymore so I told them right away and they said that the locks had nothing too do with what they did and I would have too pay too get them fixed.

Answer:

pcm, i know because my uncle has that car
Does this truck have an o.e.m alarm? if so, it fairly is area of that gadget. the different threat is that there is a caught or undesirable door lock swap that's sending the incorrect sign to the pc (ctm) to fasten the doors.
the door locks work through the pcm because the speed sensor trips a relay the triggers them to lock,so it may not have anything to do with what they did ,but i would take it back something isn't right about that ,if they worked before they should be working now unless there is a blown fuse or a bad module for them, either way they should have been able to tell you what was causing that too happen, good luck on it.
I am not sure but I would take this first to the Service Manager and then next to the Dealer Manager or all the way up to the owner if that's the case.... I bought a car used outta warranty from a reputable dealership and the tranny blew 2 weeks after purchase.... As they say the squeaky wheel gets the grease because I got my tranny rebuilt for free I would raise hell on this one because already the Top 3 are hurtin especially Mopar / Dodge.... so they don't need the negative feedback about their dealership and how they treat their customers
i cannot beleive that people make up answers when they have absolutely no idea how a car works. (see above answer). the door locks on a 2002-2008 ram truck are solely controlled by the instrument cluster. the insturment cluster has an integral body control module making it a cabin compartment node. the pdc is under the hood along with the pcm. the only thing the pcm or pdc (called the IPM on 02 and newer trucks) is this. when your vehicle speed reaches 15 mph the cluster looks at tps postion. it does this through the pci bus system that the module communicate on. vehicle speed is broadcast over the bus for all modules to pick up. if tps is under 15% the ccn will lock the doors automatically. there is no power door lock relay. there is no speed sensor that makes a relay work. they are controlled by a low side driver from the ccn, not a relay. what exaclty did they do to your truck when you had it worked on? what was wrong with it and what did they replace?
