Question:

One of my brackets keeps falling off, what's the problem?

I got braces just over a year and a half ago, and ever since the beginning one bracket keeps falling off. They glue it back on and every few weeks - or even days - it falls off again. I have literally lost count of how many times this SINGLE bracket has come off, even when I'm not eating food at all, let alone hard foods or toffee. I really don't know what the problem is, does anybody have any ideas as to why this keeps happening? I also have an underbite that I will need surgery on, but I don't think this has anything to do with it. thank you in advance!

I just got my braces off and i have an overbite so my orthodontist used turbo bites which stopped my top teeth hitting my bottom. I am pretty sure that it is because of your overbite. Good Luck with your treatment!
dodge each and all of the meals that they instructed you to, extremely meals that are no longer uncomplicated or sticky. extremely dodge popcorn! shrink your foodstuff up into small products and consume it slowly. dodge sodas and fruit juices because of the fact the acid from them might reason the bonding to weaken. even with the actuality which you would be able to desire to be thorough which contain your dental hygiene being overly finished of existence with brushing can do extra harm than sturdy so be tender. Thorough, yet tender. Dental wax is sturdy for helping shelter your gums out of your braces. communicate on your orthodontist relating to the themes you're having and in case you sense you're no longer getting the widespread artwork and care which you ought to be then you definately've the final to swap to a sparkling orthodontist. sturdy success.
hello!! i have braces ( and im getting them off tomorrow. YAY!) and i had the same problem with this one braket. i was just eating a piece of soft untoatsed bread and my bracket pops off! it happened like three times and turns out my ortho uses really weak glue. so that might be the problem or since you have an underbite, like the other user said :) you might be biting it. so just ask your ortho if there is any thing you can do! good luck! :)
Hi! I have braces too (getting 'em off soon, PHEW!) My orthodontist talked to me and told me that he will give me bite fillings. Bite fillings are these cement filling you put on your molars if your teeth are too close to the brackets. If you don't have bite fillings and your teeth are close to the bracket, you will bite one or them off. Talk to your orthodontist about the bracket and how it keeps falling off. My friend had the exact same problem. She fixed it when she was overseas! Her bracket fell off and she had to go to an ortho to fix it. The ortho glued it back on and now its still on after a YEAR. So, I suggest you either talk to your orthodontist about the brand of glue/bite fillings or consider going to another ortho just one time.! Hope I helped! :)
