I am buying a house with an outdoor wood boiler .I will not be using the house 24/7 so there is elec baseboard backup heat.I want to know is there a way to keep the circulater pump running whan the stove is not fired, to use the warmth in the house to keep ouside water from freezing
Johnson control makes a control that will take care of your problem without costing to much. as well you can add glycol to your system and that will keep it from freezing ask your plumbing supplier not your Homo-Depot.
Yes you can run a seperate power line to the pump with a switch in it, that way you can turn it on or off when ever you like. It can remain conneted to the boiler control that normally turns it on.and off. Your just giving the pump another power supply that you can control. Don't forget to turn the switch off to this power supply when you go to use the boiler it could cause the boiler controls to mal function
