own a 1986 d6d cat bulldozer and the torque converter is overheating. it doesn't slip or stall. need help..

Answer:

Does the system have an oil cooler in it. It could be plugged up, the circulation should run cooler oil through (if it has one), I'm not farmiliar with this model, so don't know. However it would make sense! Since slippage would tend to naturally heat the oil up if it didn't get changed by circulation! (Such as in cars trucks).
Check the seals and sealing surfaces in the torque converter. This is most likely the problem.
