Question:

Paper Tower?

I need to make a paper tower that will hold a lot of weight.it has to be at least 27.5 inches in heightit can't exceed 1/2 kg in mass and i can only use1/2 kg of white paper 2 rolls of regular clear quot;scotchquot; tapeandan aluminum foil pie plate.Any ideas???

Answer:

Try your paper tower in truss type structure Your guide is that a member of the tower should be connected at its end with other members to form a triangleThis is to avoid bi-axial bending and instead a purely axial stress onlyTry to form the paper as long cylindrical shape or pipe like section to act as member element of the trussI think this paper tower truss type structure will hold much much of load weight.
