Question:

Physics, please help?

please can someone help me with these two questionsa) suggest a reason why a helium ballon floats, but a normal ballon sinks in airb) why would an aluminum balloon shrink more quickly than a rubber balloon

Answer:

helium is less dense than air, and is therefore lighterAs the helium is lighter, the helium would naturally sit on top of the airTherefore when within the balloon, the balloon floatsthe aluminium again is much denser than rubber, and it is heavierThe air from within the balloon would not be able to push outwards on the balloon with such a force to keep the aluminium in shape, and so the balloon would shrinkit's the same for the rubber, except the aluminium shrinks quicker because it is heavier and the air within the balloon cannot hold it in shape for as longHope I helped x
