I was cooking a frozen pizza in my roommate's oven, and the directions suggested placing the pizza directly on the center oven rackFearing cheese dripping all over, I decided to put a piece of aluminum foil on the bottom of the oven to catch any drippingWell, it seems the foil partially melted and bits of it are firmly melded with the bottom of the oven! I tried scraping it off with a knife but all I seem to be doing is scratching the oven, and the foil is still thereWhat can I do? Preferably before my roommate notices what I've done to his brand new oven ;-)
Sounds like your roommate's already baked a pizza on the rack and dripped cheese on the floor of the ovenYou, being smart and thoughtful, decided to prevent this, not knowing there were cheese and grease dollops awaiting your unsuspecting foil sheetRemove racksHeat oven to 300?F or soThen use a BBQ grill cleaner (that flat, scraping edge) scrape up softened, cooked-on food and foilShould come up easier this way that at room tempWear oven mitts so you don't burn your forearms scraping.
