they like to sit on your clothes because its soft and maybe warm from your body heat. They like to sit up high to observe and possibly look for prey (mice, rats, birds etc.)
Only if the scene burnt your eyes which made you trip on their clothes and accidentally pulled the fire alarm .No harm done :D cheers!
