I have a 1997 Mazda Miata. When i first got it I didnt have my license so it sat in my drive way for awhile, but i started it every now and again. Somehow the battery died one night. I got it charged and now everytime i go to start my car the alarm goes off and the car wont start until i press the button to make it go off. Can someone please help me out and tell me whats possibly wrong? Thank you
not sure on this one may simply be the battery in the key fob if there is one
If there is a key fob control, try disarming it with that. As some one else said, it may be a dead battery in the key fob. This is an aftermarket system, so try to locate the system maker and get directions from them. Look in front of the spare tire and see if there is a makers name on it. Also check the paper work that came with the car, the owner may have left some info on who made it. Try to find out what owner had it installed, maybe they have the directions or at least know where they bought the unit. Removing the unit will prove difficult but it is not impossible.
