my dog got use to eating meat. Now i discovered its not good for her please tell me a way to make my dog eat dog food.
You may want to start by mixing wet dog food with the meat. Gradually increase the amount of wet dog food and decrease the amount of meat over the period of a week. If you change her food suddenly then it will cause diarrhea. You can choose to keep your dog on wet food or change it to dry food. Dry food is better for there teeth. The reason why I recommend starting with wet food and then switching to dry is because the wet food will be most similar to the meat. He might not eat the new food at first but you must stay consistent. Good luck.
Where on earth did you 'find out that it is not good for her' ? What do you think wild dogs and wolves eat? RAW meat. edible bones and offal/organs - NOT cooked meat and kibble!!! Millions of pets have NEVER eaten commercial food and are thriving!! there is no need to cook, grind or puree - just make friends with your local butcher!!! Meat alone will not provide enough nutrition but by feeding 70-80% meat, 10-15% edible bone and 10-15% offal (half liver), from a variety of animals, your dog will be EVERY ingredient needed for canine health. Dogs DO NOT need grains and vegetables - read the first article for the scientific reasons for this - as they cannot digest them properly anyway. A small amount (less than 5%) is OK but anything more will just be pooped out. A 'prey model' raw fed dog has half to one third the poop output of a commercial 'barf' or artificial fed dog. This is because the food is absorbed and utilised rather than expelled. Marrow and/or shin bones are more likely to crack teeth than clean them - see the 'myths' link for more information.
