I was wondering if i could use portable working lights as a heat light for a plant.
You have to be careful about placement, but a 500 watt quartz light will produce the same heat as a 500 watt portable heater. Electricity produces 3.4 btu's per watt. Lights, heaters, tv toaster, cell phone charger, all produce 3.4 btu's per watt.
