Does a chemical reaction occur when the copper sweats causing the formaldehyde to corrode the copper?

you've raised a good Q, however I've never heard of that until today. After researching it somewhat to just get an A off to you, I find nothing that stands out in the paragraphs that excite me. I've never known the copper to sweat and cause problems in the joints, but that doesn't mean that it isn't there, I just haven't found it. I'm still curious and have nine lives so if you get the A b4 I do, let me know, however; in retrospect, I have changed from the old solder & flux to the new and its 'waterbase' and therefor, easier to work with and I still have had no problems with the old or the new. there are newer methods of connecting pipes without chemicals and its a costly upgrade unless you do it every day. as for the sweating, that comes when cold water is drawn in from outside to a warm area as is ceramic tanks on toilets. Used it all the time on my rentals and no troubles yet...keep me informed
