We have a six year old propane Baxi luna HT 380, it works awesome, however, almost every time we get a fill, it shuts down, it gives me a E1 33 code which is a gas supply fault. We live in northern Minnesota and we have a 500 gallon tank. The tank has a regulator on top and there is also a regulator mounted on the house before the line goes into the house. I know this particular system is very touchy, but this is a problem if we are on vacation and we don't hire a house sitter in the winter and explain to them what to do if we get a delivery. We are on a keep fill basis so that can happen at any time, and if it doesn't get re-set, well, you know what I mean, does anyone have an answer for us? Thanks much!!!
Some systems will automatically shut off during refill to prevent pressure damage to the supply unit/line until the refill is complete. However, the regulators can be manually turned off also. Another common fault is condensation within the tank or lines.
When the tank is being filled, the filler typically shuts off the main valve to the appliances as a safety precaution. That will cause a pressure error-message at the boiler. A gas stove or simple water heater may not have such a safety device - but do check any standing pilots after each fill. They may be off. Just let your house-sitter know that this is the procedure. The other option would be to instruct the propane company not to shut down - a *very* bad idea - during the fill. It cannot be that difficult to reset the system? One other option is to install two tanks. In that case, one would maintain system pressure at all times. That is fairly common in those areas where people depend entirely on propane.
Could be that the tank is overfilled and is blowing liquid propane into it. This would have to evaporate before it would work properly. Liquid propane won't burn.
