When the siltstone is subjected to high pressure, such as heat, it can be transformed into different types of rocks, schist and gneiss. These metamorphic rocks are easy to distinguish, they are striped crystalline minerals. The process of disintegration of siltstone is irreversible.
The particle diameter of siltstone is measured about 0.0039-0.0625cm. Although the stone, silt can not be seen as a single particle, but can feel the separation of silt particles. This assemblage of rocks has such characteristics as layered, tough, and easily broken.
Silt refers to the size of large particles of sand particles and clay particles.
