Question about a beta fish tank light.?

I bought a new light for my beta fish tank that turns out is a night light that is green. Will this harm my fish?

Answer:

Well as far as I know your Betta should be fine with that green light. I can't see any way it could harm him or anything. I guess if it makes you feel better though you could always just go get a regular colored light bulb for him later on.
Hi Emmylou - Have you read the instructions in the lighting kit? It should explain whether or not the intensity of the light, the color of the light, and the light itself would be harmful to a betta. I would say not as far as harming the betta since night lights put off very low light. When the sun comes up the night light will turn off, so the betta will have natural light throughout the day and a little while of low natural light until nightfall. If this green night light puts out some high intense light I would return it for a regular light so you have the control over when it is turned on and off. Personally I think that would be a clever night light and a very pretty one for the betta as it shouldn't be very intense at all. :) Have a good day!
