Question:

question about hard-wired smoke detector?

we've got 2 hard wired smoke detectors in our 1992 mobile home and just now the one in the kitchen went off due to smoke from cooking, the second hard-wired one was beeping very quietly and the light was blinking to indicate smoke. (Our 2-month old battery operated detector didn't go off during this). This makes me think that the hard-wired ones are still working but I just wanted to make sure. The second one that was just quietly beeping is farther away than the other (which is in the kitchen). So i guess my question is : are my smoke detectors working properly? When I push the test button they loudly beep. I also want to know how to cancel a beeping wired alarm because waving my hands in front of it didn't work, and pushing the button only made it louder.

Answer:

uhh no thats not normal. I have OCD but I guess mine is very minor, since all the things I need to do do not include exact numbers.
sounds like ocd to me, but as long as you keep it in check and it doesn't start control your life you'll be fine. There are definitely psychologists and psychiatrist who can help if you feel you need or want help with it.
I don't know how you managed to get a Masters degree. Why didn't you tell him that you have experience in an admin role but it was not what your after, that you gained use full experience out of it but now you want more. You did 3/4 hours of training, that's nothing. Often when you start new jobs there isn't alot they let you do, you need to use initiative and find small tasks to do, be it emptying the bins. You cant expect to walk into a new job and be promoted right away. It takes time, it takes years and years to get into management. You cant tell your boss to give you a better job. Prove your competent at the basics and ask if you could learn some extra skills that would help you get the recruitment position. Maybe you aren't suited to the type of positions you are applying for, maybe admin and management isn't suited to you. You have to have the right personality and the nack for these things. Go see a careers councilor and get them to test you to see what career path your suited too.
Yes that is OCD behavior. I used to do things like that. It usually gets worse. I asked Jesus in my heart and my ocd went away, along with lots of others.
Yeah, it's normal. DOn't feel weird or anything. I think it is OCD. I have OCD, but I do different things. Sometimes I have to repeat myself. Sometimes I rearrange thingsI do other things, but it's not weird or anything.
