Question about plastics in the environment...?

How do plastic bottles hurt the environment?I know that the way they make certain kinds of plastics pollute the environment, but how does a plastic bottle on the side of the road harm the environment?...possibly something about PVC's?Please help. It's urgent.Thank you.

Answer:

You have different kinds; polyvinylchloride, polypropylene, polycarbonate and others. The polyvinylchloride is the one most associated with carcinogens. Those can leach out as they interact with the environment, or be released as a byproduct of manufacture.
Did you know that todays people is becoming more plastic in the heart than ever before?
Because: *Plastics block sewages which causes flooding. *Plastics because faunas think it's food so they eat it and die from ingestion. For instance, jelly-fish eating sea creatures think that plastic bags are jellyfishes. So, when they eat it they get sick and eventually die. In the long run, they become critically endangered to extinct. *Plastic is not biodegradeable. It lasts thousands of years before it's broken apart by sunlight. Some even claim that all the plastic we have produced so far is still with us. *Because plastic is not biodegradeable, and hard to recycle, it is already one of the world's biggest garbage in volume. Well, that's some of the reasons I could come up now. But I'm definite that plastic poses far worse problems than those.
Plastic bottles can harm the environment in several ways: 1. Animals can either eat them and choke, or smaller ones get stuck in them 2. As time goes by they degrade and thus leave in the soil nitrites which are pure poison. 3. They are not aesthetic
Most plastics are non-biodegradable meaning that they can't be broken down by natural process. So with all the plastic we use, it builds up in landfills if you don't recycle. So recycles plastics and re use bottles. Enough of that on to why it can hurt just by being on the road. 1. Animals could eat it and be killed by it being stuck inside of them. 2. The plastic could have/had chemicals in it. The chemicals will go into the soil and eventually end up in our water system or a natural aquifer. 3. It builds up because if one person does it, there is a 100% chance some other lazy person will throw another one out the window. 4. Its not pretty on the side or the road. The list goes on and on. So even a plastics bottle on the side of the road can cause problems.
