A yelp in a dog isn't always a sign of painIt was probably just surprised when she did thatThe leash is called a slip lead, it's a cheap tool to help keep control when not using your own leash/collarYes i do watch Cesar Millan and he uses them all the time in leash trainingThat's just what the dog needsHad the dog not pulled, no pressure would be applied to her neckThere is nothing wrong with the groomer or the slip lead at allI think most groomers use those, you just may not always see themIf you were happy with her job otherwise, maybe you can request she use your collar/lead?
All groomers use their own grooming leads to control dogs, it's not safe to use regular collars while grooming as they can break or slip offWhile you and your dog may object to her methods, she didn't do anything wrongIf my dogs pull on the leash, I snap the leash back and correct themA Great Dane is a large dog, it's not safe for one to be unruly, even in that situationYou should thank her for trying to teach your dog some manners, since you apparently haven't done soI am a groomer, and I have friends with large dogs including Danes, and not a single one of them would expect any less of me than to correct their dog if it tried to drag me aroundIf you don't like that groomer, don't use herI would not advise you start bad-mouthing her, as that can get you slapped with a lawsuit for slander and character defamationDisagreeing with her training methods doesn't give you the right to tell people not to use her services, and slander IS against the law, no matter how upset you are.
Its a quick way to smarten up the dogITS safe and it helps direct the dog to be badHeck one of the dogs I groom bites and tugs me everywhere and doing that makes them stop.
When a dog tugs, you snap the lead RIGHT AWAY and release, that's disciplineIf she screamed stop instead of just saying it, then sure that is a little too much, but she was just keeping your dog in check and you should be happy for thatIf your dog was really well-trained than she would not have tugged to get to youGroomers aren't there for your dog to drag around so of course they are going to correct your dog when it does something badIf you don't like the use of choke collars then tell every groomer you go to not to use themBtw choke collars don't really choke a dog if used correctlyI'm suprised that you are able to handle a great dane without correcting itJust wondering. What do you use to walk her?
it should workif it comes preinstalled then yesbut if it doesn't on the new mac computers download it and seeor call apple and ask them
