Quick question about liming soil?

I had a soil test done in an existing garden where the owner always added lime to quot;sweeten the acid soilquot;.I did a soil test, I mixed two scoop of their soil, and then about four scoops of an area east of that into which I'm expanding. The Ph was 6.7 with a buffer of 6.8.I'm expanding even farther east into untouched soil, quot;just grass and tree rootsquot;.I'm wondering if that soil is more acidic than the soil west of it. It's only like 10 feet.Could the Ph change that much within 10 feet?If it were more acidic, I can't imagine it's be no more than a coupe tenths. But could it be a couple points more?I don't know, the guy at the Co-Op said most likely that's how all the soil is about the same around that garden area?
