i need to pour cement and it needs to set quickly (as the weather hasn't exactly been very dry recently).so i was wondering what would happen if i use club soda (carbonated water, with very little potassium citrate, far as i can tell) instead of ordinary tap water to the mix cement
Cement sets due to slow chemical reactions that occur naturally. Your proposal will not help at all, but would make it bubble and be weak. Just protect the wet cement as builders do eg tilted planks on bricks covered with hardboard or plastic sheeting, corrugated steel or similar
