Re packing peanuts: I have wooden waterbed frame (CA king)The plywood bottom sits on wood planks?

bolted togetherBed has electric heater under the plastic liningThe room stays in mid-50's F at nightI don't like a warm bedroom, am also being thrifty (cheap)Is a N-E room, with large N window just above head of bedEdoor to outside about 6 feet from the bedIs a wood door over an inch thick, no other insulation to doorWould it be useful, energy efficient, to use packing peanuts in the open space inside the frame that touches floor? There's only a partial basement and I don't think it reaches to bedroomProbably just bare earth there. Will be using clean carpet strips, maybe some old clean bed-covers, inside the top frame for insulationI need to put those under the liner - hadn't thought of that before!Thank you for thinking and answeringAny helpful suggestions about the room are also welcome.
