Yes, if you are going to stay with galvanized pipe use the USA made pipe. Most of the big box stores sell Chinese made fittings because they're cheap. You'll have to go to a plumbing supply store and ask for USA made pipe. A little more expensive but well worth it. As someone else recommended, PEX is a great alternative.
