Recipe for a Key Lime Pie, Please?

HELP ! My husbands B-day is tomorrow .He loves pie, so each year I make him pie. He caught me off guard this morning when he requested a Key Lime. I have never tasted one, nor do I know if a quot;truequot; Key Lime is pudding style or gel style. Where possible, he orders one while dining out. If memory serves me correct, I have seen him eat both styles. Thanks.

Answer:

juice from a lime.
Fresh squeezed by far.
Fresh squeezed Spanish limes
Fresh squeezed! I like Key limes, but Spanish limes are popular too. As long as the lime is ripe, I'm not terribly sure it makes much difference. Experiment with lemon flavor too! Although not necessarily traditional, it can make for a yummy margarita! And while I'm at it, a little advice since it sounds like you're making margaritas from scratch and not using a prepackaged syrupy nightmare. Don't ruin it with bad tequila. Stay away from Cuervo and any other mixto tequilas. You want 100% blue agave tequila. Typically good tequilas are expensive, but there are a few diamonds in the ruff. Milagro silver is my favorite inexpensive tequila, but any 100% blue agave tequila with not coloring added will do much better than Cuervo. Enjoy!
