Question:

red light cameras-Orlando?

In Orlando many of the traffic lights have small blue lights on them. Are these for Red light cameras? If not, what do they look like?

Answer:

The blue lights are not cameras. They are indicators that a light is red. If a cop is behind the signal light and can't see whether is is yellow or red, light, he can tell if a car ran a red light if the blue light is on when the car enters the intersection. Notice that the blue light is visible from any direction. The red light cameras are pretty small and it's not always obvious they are there. Some intersections have cameras not for red light running, but for traffic management. In the city of Orlando all camera-enforced traffic lights have a sign posted saying they are camera enforced.
the blue lights are to show the officer tnat that light id RED, he needs to be able to say thr light was red when you passed it
